BÓKADAGAR 2026 - Family Event

Ólavur hates going to bed because he has the same terrible nightmare every night. He is chased by slimy creatures that transform into fire and pursue him through a dark cave until he falls over the edge …
But one night, the nightmare changes. Ólavur ends up in Kongurvág, the kingdom of the spiders. Together with a spider, he must travel deeper into Kongurdalur and try to end the nightmare once and for all. It is the only way to get rid of it.
Ferðin til Kongurvág is an exciting children’s book about friendship, fear and courage. An action-packed and adventurous story written by Urd Johannesen and illustrated by Silja Eystberg.
12-year-old Askur Sannuson Souvy, who is a book reviewer for the children’s magazine Strok, will talk to Urd and Silja about the book, nightmares, fantasy worlds, and what it is like to write and illustrate books. Children will also have the opportunity to draw their own nightmares and colour in illustrations from the book.
The book is 100 pages long and is aimed at children aged 7–12.
