Theatre: Ævintýraferðin on St Olaf's - King Lear

Theatre: Ævintýraferðin on St Olaf's - King Lear

The performance, based on a world-famous play by William Shakespeare, tells the story of an aging king with three extraordinarily unruly daughters who behave remarkably badly. In fact, the three daughters behave so badly that King Lear eventually loses his mind completely and flees from his castle.

What did they do to him? Well, you will have to visit Amtmansborgin in Tórshavn to find out.

What can be revealed, however, is that King Lear is a tragedy filled with family conflict, war, murder, and other royal goings-on that will make you gasp and exclaim “ooh!”, “aah!”, and “oh!”— but also laugh and perhaps even shed a tear.

With musical and theatrical ingenuity, Dánjal and Búi will give children visiting ólavsøka an introduction to the wondrous world created by the playwright William Shakespeare, whose works continue to stand as enduring landmarks of world literature.

Come and visit the magnificent Amtmansborgin in Tórshavn during ólavsøka!

As the venue at Amtmansborgin is so unique, capacity is limited (50 people per performance).
