A driver guide tour could therefore be the perfect option for you, if you’re not into demanding mountain hikes, but would like to experience the beautiful nature up close. The guide will know exactly where to take you and to show you the hidden gems of Suðuroy and the stories and sagas linked to them.

AraTours Faroe Islands

AraTours is a family run business, offering driver guide tours, guided hiking trips as well as renting out bikes and offering home-dining.

They offer these packages:

Morning Driver-guide tour starts at 10:00 where the driver guide will pick you up at your accomodation.
The trip is from 10:00 to 14:00
Lunch is optional and is served at 13:00 in the private home of locals.

The afternoon driver-guide tour starts at 16:00 where the guide will pick you up at your accomodation.
The tour is from 16:00 to 20:00
Dinner is optional and will be served at 19:00 hrs, in the private home of locals.

If you'd like a local guide to drive you around, the Visit Suðuroy office in Tvøroyri is able to provide one for you.

The price is:
575 DKK per hour, 2 passengers included. You need to book a minimum of 2 hours, however, we recommend that you book the guide for at least 3 or 4 hours, in order to get the best experience and to see the entire island.
