Viking Festival in Hov

Travel back a thousand years and experience what life was like back in the times of the Vikings at the Viking Days event in Hov, the old Viking capital of the Faroe Islands.

Enjoy a stress-free day while you wander between tents, looking at beautiful crafts that people dressed as Vikings make.

Enjoy a meal made with resources that were only available on the islands during the times of the Vikings. You can also listen to the Vikings sing old songs and play music using rare instruments. Join in the Faroese chain dance or observe as the Vikings compete in various games which require both strength and agility.

There is also plenty for children to see and do, such as activities with swords and shields. They can also try to use a bow and arrow and also create their own jewellery.
